Where OrangiO must not go (and what to use instead)
This page saves money and surfaces. Warnings matter here as much as ways: whoever saves others from damage or a dead end gets their name on it and a reward, like the author of a way. We publish negative results, because trust is part of the product.
Can I clean screens with OrangiO? TN-01
No. Screens carry oleophobic and anti-reflective coatings, and a solvent can damage them for good.
Use instead: A dry microfibre cloth or a product made for screens. Device always unplugged.
Is OrangiO safe on perspex and acrylic? TN-02
No. Acrylics dull and micro-crack from solvents: the damage is permanent and shows against the light.
Use instead: Water with a drop of dish soap and a soft cloth.
Can I wipe car headlights with OrangiO? TN-03
No. Polycarbonate reacts like perspex: dullness instead of clarity.
Use instead: Dedicated headlight restoration kits.
Can OrangiO go on car paint? TN-04
Not as an instruction. Paints and coatings differ between cars, and a spot of damage shows only after the fact. Note: a camper's gelcoat is a different material and a separate test candidate, not the same decision.
Use instead: Car cosmetics made for paint.
Can I wash raw or oiled wood with OrangiO? TN-05
Not without a trial. The oil soaks into raw wood and leaves stains, and it washes the finish out of oiled tops.
Use instead: Wood care products, minimal moisture, always a corner trial.
Can OrangiO touch seals and silicone? TN-06
Not without a test. Solvents can dry out and deform elastomers, and a seal holds water: do not risk it for cleanliness.
Use instead: Water with soap and a soft cloth.
Can I clean a hot hob or hood right after cooking? TN-07
No. On a hot surface the liquid evaporates faster, smells stronger and behaves unpredictably.
Use instead: Wait until the surface is cold. A standing rule of every plan.
Does OrangiO work as a dishwasher or washing machine freshener? TN-08
No. It is not a product for machine cycles and no such use exists in its safety data.
Use instead: Products made for cleaning appliances, used by their maker's instructions.
Can I mix OrangiO with a descaler or bleach? TN-09
Never. Mixing products means unknown reactions, and with chlorine: toxic fumes. Rule number 1 of the whole system.
Use instead: One product at a time, full water rinse between products.
Does OrangiO disinfect? TN-10
No. OrangiO cleans grease and glue, it does not kill germs, and nobody may claim it does.
Use instead: Disinfection needs authorised biocidal products used by their label.
Can the concentrate touch skin or end up in children's hands? TN-11
No. The concentrate irritates eyes (H319) and can sensitise skin (H317, d-limonene). It is a cleaner, not a cosmetic, and adults only.
Use instead: Gloves with the concentrate, bottle out of children's reach, wash skin with soap and water after contact.
Can food go straight back after cleaning? TN-12
No. After every clean, food-contact zones need a wipe with clean water and drying.
Use instead: Clean water, drying, then the food. The finish of every plan.
Does OrangiO remove limescale? TN-13
No. OrangiO is a grease and glue specialist, limescale ignores it: you lose time and liquid.
Use instead: The Seltino Entkalker descaler, never in one bottle with OrangiO, and always with a full rinse between the two.
