How do I remove label glue from a jar?

start with 5% (1 cap per 100 ml) on a cotton pad; concentrate only after 5% failed, gloves on. The paper comes off but the glass stays sticky. You want to reuse the jar, and the glue keeps catching dust and fluff.

Steps

  1. Soak a cotton pad in the 5% mix and hold it on the glue for half a minute.
  2. Rub the glue off in circles. It comes off in layers, do not tear.
  3. A shadow of glue left? Repeat. Still nothing? A drop of concentrate on the pad, but now with gloves.
  4. Wash the jar with dish soap and rinse well. Food will live in it.

Do not use on

plastic containers, prints on the jar, lacquered lids, acrylic.

Safety

concentrate = gloves, always; keep children away. Never mix OrangiO with other chemicals, especially bleach.

Finish

full wash plus rinse before food contact.

Questions

When do I reach for the concentrate?

Only after two rounds of 5% fail to lift the glue. A drop of concentrate on a pad, always with gloves.

Will the jar be food-safe afterwards?

Yes, after a full wash: dish soap and a thorough rinse, because food will live inside.

Where to get the base

This plan needs one bottle: OrangiO #mama106, an orange oil concentrate for grease and glue.
