How do I clean permanent marker off a glass display?

5% (1 cap per 100 ml) on a cotton pad; stronger only after a corner trial. Someone signed the glass outside the paper. One line makes the whole display look ruined.

Plan #MixTour012 · author: the Mama Margaret team (launch canon, August 2026). New numbers from 013 will carry community authors' names.

Steps

  1. Corner trial first: make sure the pane is glass, not perspex.
  2. Pad with 5% on the line, hold a moment, wipe.
  3. Repeat with a fresh pad until the line is gone (do not smear with one dirty pad).
  4. Clean water and drying.

Do not use on

perspex, protective films, prints, lacquered frames.

Safety

adults only; air the room for bigger marks. Never mix OrangiO with other chemicals, especially bleach.

Finish

clean water plus drying.

Questions

How do I know if it is glass or perspex?

Do a corner trial. Perspex and protective films are on the black list: OrangiO can dull them.

The line comes off but smears.

Change pads. One dirty pad spreads the ink, a fresh one lifts it layer by layer.

Where to get the base

This plan needs one bottle: OrangiO #mama106, an orange oil concentrate for grease and glue.
