How do I clean the sticky film around a coffee machine?

2 caps (10 ml) per 1 l of warm water; on a cloth. Coffee, milk and hand marks build up around the espresso machine and grinder. Your favourite corner quickly looks neglected.

Steps

  1. Move the machine and grinder aside (switched off).
  2. 1% mix on a cloth: wipe the counter, tiles and the OUTSIDE of the machines.
  3. Hold a damp cloth on dried coffee dots for a moment, then lift them.
  4. Wipe the counter under the machine with clean water and dry.

Do not use on

the inside of the machine, the grinder internals, the water tank and bean hopper, control panels.

Safety

machines switched off; nothing goes inside. Never mix OrangiO with other chemicals, especially bleach.

Finish

cup and food contact zone: clean water plus drying.

Questions

Can I wipe the espresso machine itself?

Outside only, and only switched off. The inside of the machine, the grinder, the water tank and the bean hopper stay untouched.

What about dried coffee dots?

Hold a damp cloth with the 1% mix on them for a moment, then lift. No scraping.

Where to get the base
